This wine is produced from top quality grapes grown in the Struma Valley, South West Bulgaria, specially selected for optimum ripeness and terroir character. Grapes were handpicked in small crates and twice passed through sorting tables to ensure the highest quality possible for the vintage. Fermented separately, the wines are blended after ageing for 18 months in new French oak barrels. It continues its maturation for 6 more months in the bottle before being released on the market. Dark and deep ruby in colour, it has a powerful aroma of blueberries and blackberries, blackcurrants, hints of tobacco, smoke and bitter chocolate. A full bodied and robust but harmonious palate leads to a complex long lingering finish. Ready now but can keep for further 12-15years. It is best served at 18-20° C alongside game and full flavoured red meat dishes.
